LE VIEUX MOULIN COTIGNAC is our cherished property in the heart of Provence, in the south of France.
Just an hour and a half from the enchanting cities of Nice and Marseille, Cotignac is a gem of a French village. It boasts a rich tapestry of history, with its religious and medieval architecture, troglodyte caves, winding cobbled streets, and a vibrant weekly market.
In 2022, Cotignac was one of 14 villages awarded " Les plus beaux villages de France", and in 2021, European Destination of Excellence (EDEN). These awards highlight this remarkable village’s ability to showcase unique and authentic experiences for tourists, offering an array of exquisite restaurants, including a Michelin Green star gem, a charming brewery just up the street, and renowned wineries while maintaining an authentic and laid-back French village atmosphere.
Our 4-bedroom apartment is a unique blend of history and coziness, built around a 16th-century olive mill that lends a unique character to the lounge room. The presence of two authentic olive presses in the lounge room adds to its unique ambience.
Inside, terracotta tiles create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while a wood fireplace makes it the perfect retreat during the winter months. Step outside onto our two spacious balconies, where you can immerse yourself in nature, practice yoga, or enjoy pilates while overlooking the serene river. Despite this idyllic setting, you'll find yourself right in the heart of the village, adding a touch of originality to your stay.
Our apartment is a tranquil oasis, offering the ideal base for exploring the beauty of the south of France or simply unwinding. Whether you're inclined to visit the local brewery, winery, or indulge in excellent restaurants just 2 minutes away, you're in for a treat.

“We stayed in Cotignac for a week with our 2 children and loved it. The apartment is within an easy walk to all essentials and most importantly, the boulangerie for the morning croissants. If you stay you must go to the Gourmandise at the top of the village as they make the best croissants. The terrace was great for meals outside, and we never felt overlooked by the neighbours. The shared pool is lovely, and again the fact that it is shared was not really an issue. We would definitely recommend this apartment”

“We so enjoyed our stay at the Vieux Moulin. It is in a fabulous, peaceful location close to a running brook, right on the edge of the village but away from the hustle and bustle of Cotignac in mid-summer. There is no sound from any neighbours. We love the unique architecture of the historical mill with two stone alcoves in the sitting room in locations where the original olive presses were. The apartment is well set up for a family group or a group of adult friends with facilities including air conditioning and the pool, games and a fully equipped kitchen. The hosts are gracious and helpful. We highly recommend this apartment”
